Corner Banh Mi

The Banh Mi sandwich was honestly one of the best ones I've ever had. The lemongrass chicken was juicy and flavorful. The bread was exactly how it should be (crunchy outside, soft and fresh inside). All the veggies (carrots, daikon, cilantro, cucumbers) were fresh. The sauce was a perfect amount which brought everything together beautifully.

This is the place you want to go for when you want to authentic Vietnamese food. We got the Grilled Lemon Grass Beef Banh Mi and man that sandwich didn't have the right to be THAT GOOD. Everything was delicious, from the the warm and crispy Baguette, to the perfect beef, the correct toppings and man the ratios were so so good! We ended with a couple of coffees and the experience was completed perfectly. Now the service was just the cherry on top! Everyone was nice and helpful and just wanted us to enjoy our quick bite. Anytime i'm anywhere near Chicago, i will be stopping by here for sure.

The restaurant is small and chill with very hospitable service. There are only about 12 seats in total and you could move tables together for a large group. They also have a self-ordering kiosk that you can use in case no waiter is around. I had the chicken pot stickers and beef pho. Both had good taste (both are a little sweet), the pho meat was a little tough.

Corner Banh Mi is a welcome addition to the vibrant restaurant scene of Lincoln Ave in Winnetka. It’s a small but very tasty Vietnamese restaurant in the north shore, and the menu is fairly extensive given the small size of shop. We typically order food to go but there are a few tables inside and out (in the summer). The brown sugar bubble tea is the best around and the beef vermicelli is delicious! Highly recommend for anyone looking for yummy Vietnamese food in the north suburbs!

I came specifically for the pork Banh mi sandwich. Superb, sizeable, fresh. In other establishments, I've typically received less fillings. Not so here. I also ordered shrimp spring rolls, which I've not yet tried, but look fresh and have 4 shrimp each. Clean, modern, efficient interior. Friendly, informed staff. Excellent options for lunch.

This place has the opportunity to get better but will need some attention to detail. We ordered on a Saturday night for pickup, got a 45 minute pickup time, but still had to wait 15 more minutes. The food was okay. The pork rolls were good, the pork chop/egg/rice combo was fine if a bit over-garlicky. The noodle salad had chicken that was not really cut or seasoned for the dish, and the noodles were overcooked. The fried noodle dish was fine. The fried rice was fine. I love love love Vietnamese food since my first visit to Hanoi 25 years ago. Maybe this is a banh mi place and that should be the focus, I will try again and update my review when I do.

Finally another option for take out restaurants here in Winnetka. The portion is good, spring roll is fresh and my husband enjoyed his vermicelli noodle dish. Both of our protein were on the dry side but the flavors are still there. We would definitely visit again.
